Spanish burofax · sent online

Send a Spanish burofax online, in English

A burofax is Spain’s certified letter: Correos delivers it on paper and certifies what it said and when it arrived. Draft yours in ChatGPT in English (you get the Spanish letter and a translation to check) or paste your own text, and we send it within 24 working hours.

A Correos burofax costs €39.90 for up to 3 pages. A certified notification from Notificados, a trusted third party, costs €19.90.

You see the exact PDF before paying, and nothing is sent until you confirm. If we can’t send it, you get a full refund.

Atentamente,

Lucía Martín Ortega

How it works

  1. Draft

Describe your situation to ChatGPT in English. It writes the letter in Spanish and gives you a translation to check. Or paste your own text.
  2. Check

You see the exact PDF, with pages counted and a fixed price. Choose a Correos burofax or a certified notification, and pay by card.
  3. We send it

It goes out within 24 working hours. Follow it on your tracking page and download the proof of delivery and certified content as they arrive.

Two ways to send it

The Correos burofax is the format everyone in Spain recognises. The certified notification from Notificados costs half as much and also proves content and delivery, but it is not a burofax: a trusted third party issues it, not Correos. If the other side or a court expects a burofax, choose Correos.

Written in English, sent in Spanish

  • The letter itself is in Spanish

The recipient, and any Spanish judge, has to be able to read it. Send it in Spanish, or bilingual with the Spanish text first and your translation after.

  • ChatGPT does the Spanish

Explain your situation in English. ChatGPT drafts the Spanish letter and an English translation, so you know exactly what you are signing.

  • Send it from anywhere

Everything happens online. You need the recipient’s address in Spain and a card. We only deliver to addresses in Spain.

  • No Correos account

You don’t sign up with Correos or install anything. We prepare the PDF, you check it, and we send it.

  • Proof you can keep

Acuse de recibo shows when it was delivered and to whom. Certificación de contenido shows what it said. Both arrive as PDFs.

  • If nobody is home

The postman leaves a notice and the letter waits at the post office. If it isn’t collected or is refused, the proof says so, which also shows you tried.

What people send by burofax

Anything where you may later need to prove you gave notice. What a burofax is, and what it proves.

  • Getting a deposit back

Spanish law gives your landlord one month after you hand back the keys (LAU art. 36.4). You can send a formal demand after you have left Spain.

  • An unpaid invoice

A dated demand for payment to a Spanish client, before you take it further.

  • Cancelling a contract

Phone, gym or insurance contracts that keep billing you: proof that you cancelled, and when.

  • Notice to a tenant

Non-renewal or a demand for unpaid rent, sent by a non-resident owner.

  • Community and neighbours

Writing to the comunidad de propietarios, its administrator or a neighbour, with proof of delivery.

  • Before going to court

Since April 2025 many civil claims in Spain require a prior attempt to negotiate (Organic Law 1/2025). A burofax records the attempt.

Questions

Is a burofax legally binding?

A burofax isn’t a contract, so it doesn’t bind anyone by itself. What it gives you is evidence: Correos certifies the content and records the delivery, and Spanish courts routinely accept that as proof of notice.

Whether that is enough for your situation depends on the case. If you are in a dispute, talk to a qualified professional in Spain.

How long does delivery take?

We send it within 24 working hours of payment. Delivery usually takes a few working days after that. Every status change appears on your tracking page.

How many pages can I send?

The price includes up to 3 pages. Each extra page costs €2.00 for a Correos burofax and €1.00 for a certified notification, up to 10 pages. A bilingual letter takes roughly twice the space.

Can I attach documents?

Not yet. We send text letters. Refer to your documents in the letter (contract date, invoice number, amounts) and keep the originals.

Can I write the letter in English only?

We can send it, but we don’t recommend it. The recipient may claim they couldn’t understand it, and a Spanish court would need a translation. Send it in Spanish, or bilingual with the Spanish text first.

Do you check my letter?

We check that it is ready to send: complete recipient details, page count and layout. We don’t judge whether the content is enough for your case. We are a sending service, not a law firm.
